The Annenberg Community Beach House is a no-membership required public facility with a rich Hollywood history. The site was once the home of the Davies Estate, a 100-plus room mansion complete with an ornate marble swimming pool that hosted movie stars like Clark Gable, Greta Garbo and Charlie Chaplin. Today only the pool and guest house still stand, but the Beach House is extraordinary. There's a children's play area and splash pad, classes like yoga and synchronized swimming, and of course, all the beach activities your family can handle. Equipment rentals are available, and there's even a cafe on the grounds.
